Welcome to Brighter Day Ministries, formerly A.P. Shaw~Congress Heights United Methodist Church. We are a growing congregation engaged in local and global mission projects. We are a body of believers who know that no individual is complete without the gift of salvation given to us freely by Jesus Christ. Together as a growing community of faith we strive to be more Christ like by developing significant healthy relationships with believers, unbelievers and seekers.

What We Believe
ABOUT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Methodism, founded in 1729 by John Wesley in England, officially organized in America in 1784 at Baltimore's Lovely Lane Meeting House. The United Methodist Church was established in 1968 from a merger with the Evangelical United Brethren.
United Methodism emphasizes grace for all, combining personal holiness with social action, and linking love of God with love of neighbor. As a connectional church, United Methodists are united globally in organization, prayer, witness, and service.
